The WiSo Faculty welcomes Professor Dr. Andreas Fügener as new Professor for Digital Supply Chain Management. Professor Fügener is already well known in the faculty. Since 2016 he has been Assistant Professor at the Department of Supply Chain Management and Management Science. Dean Ulrich W. Thonemann, himself seminar director at the department, congratulated his colleague on behalf of the WiSo Faculty.

Also in the university public many know Mr. Fügener from the multimedia online lecture "Einführung in die Betriebswirtschaftslehre" („Introduction to Business Administration“), an innovative and successful course with more than thousand students in 4 semesters.

Before his time in Cologne, Andreas Fügener, who received his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich, already gained teaching and research experience at the Augsburg Chair for Health Care Operations/Health Information Management. His research focuses on capacity problems in health care (especially personnel planning) and behavioural aspects in operations management.

For several years he also worked in management consulting. His research is also practice-oriented, he was a finalist in the Euro Excellence in Practice Award 2016.
